Bought this to replace the old 40GB drive that I salvaged from a very old PC for my new custom one. Installation was easy (although you'll need your OS disc if you're using this to replace a single drive) and the drive itself is whisper quiet, unlike my old one which constantly whined while the machine was on. If that weren't enough, the 500GB you get for the money is pretty unbeatable value wise. Brilliant purchase.

This is my first computer I have ever built so I was a bit hesitant to buy this since its OEM, I got to say that it was worth it. The hard drive I received was an MDT (Magnetic Data Technologies), I have never heard of MDT so I did some research, most people said they aren't very good and were WD refurbishments. Mine has been working fine so far (touch wood) but either way it was worth the money.

Installed and working well. Had some difficulties trying to identify the correct controller card for my old IDE based system , however the fitting of a budget priced RAID controller did the trick. No problems so far.
