I've now decided to back up my data on individual hard discs using a caddy box to connect them to my PC.
The first hard disc (not Seagate) I purchased was one where I didn't consider the buffer capapbility and it turned out to be inadequate, causing problems when down loading and making its use difficult.
From then on I've purchased Seagate's of various capacities and found them to be first class.
